Description : Diazepam is a long acting benzodiazepine with anti-convulsant, anxiolytic, sedative, muscle relaxant and amnestic properties.

Composition :  Each uncoated tablet contains

Diazepam BP

5.00 mg

Indication :  • Anxiety Disorders                                   

                    • Preoperative Anxiolysis

                    • Alcohol Withdrawal       

                    • Musculoskeletal Conditions

Dosage : Doses should be the lowest that can control symptoms and courses of treatment should be short, not normally exceeding 4 weeks, with diazepam being withdrawn gradually.

Elderly and debilitated patients should be given not more than one half of the usual adult dose.

 ADULTS :

Anxiety    :   2  10 mg, 2-3 times daily

Insomnia  :   5-30 mg orally at bed time

Muscle Spasm  : 10-30 mg daily orally

Premedication   : 5-30 mg   orally before operation.

PEDIATRICS :  Not for use in pediatric patients under 6 months.
